Mission: A school where it is pleasant to study and work, school which accepts all differences and fosters tolerance. A place where creativity, personal development, expression of personality and uniqueness are encouraged in students and teachers.

Vision: To enable all students to acquire knowledge and skills and work habits through education to join the world of work as successfully as possible. To provide a positive environment in which the creativity is encouraged, but also friendship, cooperation, respect, and acceptance of diversity. In addition, environmental awareness and the importance of sustainable development are developed. In conclusion, the vision is to develop students’ awareness of the need for and importance of lifelong learning and skill improvement.

 About 270 students attend the school, divided into 23 classes. In 11 regular classes, students are educated in the following professions:

  • hairdresser
  • pedicurist
  • photographer
  • car painter
  • butcher
  • baker
  • tailor
  • carpenter

In classes for students with disabilities, students are educated in the following professions:

  • assistant cook and pastry
  • chefassistant
  • bakerassistant
  • floristassistant
  • tailorassistant
  • car painterassistant
  • locksmithassistant
  • plumber

Schooling lasts three years, after which students take a final exam and obtain a secondary vocational qualification for the above occupations and are ready to proceed to the labor market. 

Our school is open to collaboration with other schools, and we put the effort into following the newest trends from the industrial world. Our teachers are open for additional trainings, as well as our students.

  

 

SCHOOL HISTORY:

During school year 1945/46, the school operated under the name Vocational Extension School in Osijek. Back in year 1947 it gets the name: School for students in the economy Osijek Donji grad; in 1957: School for students in the economy “Ðuro Ðaković”, School Center “Ðuro Ðaković” and since year 1992 School of Crafts Osijek. 

Since 1950, the school has been educating the regular population in crafts, but also deaf-mute students and students with reduced cognitive abilities since 1964. 

Today, the School of Crafts Osijek is a modern school for the education of young craftsmen. Teaching is conducted in accordance with valid curricula. Education consists of theoretical and practical classes. Theoretical classes and exercises are carried out by 34 professors, teachers and professional associates at the school, and practical classes and professional practice by professional teachers, craftsmen in school workshops or trade companies.
